Our research in this area focuses on the development of therapeutics and diagnostic tools to investigate bacteria. We are currently engaged with a number of projects focusing on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Click here to read more about them.
Our research in this area focuses on developing novel frameworks, exploiting their unique chemical characteristics and their applications, such as drug delivery. We are currently engaged with several projects, click here to read more about them.
Our research in this area focuses on the development of therapeutics and diagnostic tools to investigate neurodegenerative disease. We are currently engaged with a number of projects focusing on Alzheimers. Click here to read more about it.
Our research in this area focuses on the development of therapeutics and diagnostic tools to investigate cancer. We are currently engaged with a project focusing on the development of KDAC inhibitors selective for leukaemia. Click here to read more about it.
Our research in this area focuses on the development of tools to investigate mitochondrial protection. We are currently engaged with a novel small molecule and it's analogues to investigate its role in the protection of mitochondria. Click here to read more about it.
The laboratory is housed in the Bedson building at Newcastle University where we undertake our research in a shared facility, coupling expertise in X-ray crystallography to work in chemical biology providing an excellent training environment for the group.
Alongside the laboratory facilities, there is access to state-of-the-art analysis suites comprising NMR, MS and many others whilst, within the Faculty of Medical Sciences, access is possible to state-of-the-art imaging facilities to undertake techniques such as microscopy, proteomics, and genomics.
If you are interested in joining our research team, please get in touch here. We are always looking for committed and talented scientists to join us and build a healthy collaborative research community.
