After graduating from the University of Liverpool with an MChem in Medicinal Chemistry with Pharmacology; Max joined the Sellar’s group in 2022 as a PhD student. He is a part of the Molecular Sciences for Medicine (MoSMed) CDT, a research collaboration between Newcastle University and Durham University. His research focuses on the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of tuberculosis, encompassing many aspects of organic chemistry as well as microbiology. When Max isn’t working, he enjoys being outdoors and staying active.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Saudi Arabia and Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), United State. Now. I am Ph.D student at Newcastle University. I am working on drug design and synthesis small molecules that could be used as anti-tuberculosis.
I earned my B.Pharm from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2012 and MSc in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in 2017. I joined the group in September 2021 to start my PhD in Medicinal Chemistry.
Fatimah was born in Saudi Arabia. I obtained my BSc in pharmaceutical science from King Khalid University in 2012. Then, I was appointed a teaching assistant at the College of Pharmacy of King Khalid University in 2013. For two years, she has worked as a demonstrator for practical chemistry courses within the University. In 2017, she has gained MSc in drug chemistry from Newcastle University. Then, I joined Dr Sellars's research group to start her PhD in 2020. My research is focusing on the synthesis and design of antituberculosis agents. In my spare time, I enjoyed reading and spending time with my family.
